Valve Controller T1

The moving arm which goes around the ball valve handle needs to be adjustable for different handle widths (which the new design does), otherwise there is too much play and will not open/close the ball valve all the way. I "fixed" mine by adding a spacer to each side so the valve handle is in the middle of the arm and engages the valve right away when opening/closing. I attached a picture of what I mean - the red rubber things on each side of the blue handle (they are covers that go over door keys). I discovered they updated the wrench to the new version (I also attached a picture) - they say is it will be shipped at random. I contacted Aqara and they are going to ship me the new wrench for free!

Vana 90 derece kadar dönüyor. Vana kısmını söküp ters aciyla yapılabilir ki diye baktım ama içinde ki mil yuvarlak olmadığı için default halı kullanilabiliyor . Ben doğalgaz vanasına konumlandırdım , duman sensörü ile birlikte bir otomasyon oluşturdum , duman algılayınca vanayı off konumuna getiriyor . Montajı basit içinden aparatlar çıkıyor . Bir kaç farklı yere uygunluk testi yaptın fotoğrafları bilgilendirme olması açısından ekliyorum.

Bir eleştirim şu olabilir on off konumunu derece olarak biz belirleyebilsek iyi olurdu , yani 0 pozisyonunda off 70 derece de on olsun gibi , belki güncelleme ile gelebilir .

Funciona perfectamente desde el 5 de Febrero de 2026. Ningún fallo hasta ahora ya que es muy robusto y potente. No es Matter directamente es Zigbee, pero el Hub Aqara M100 (barato, compatibilidad moderna y super estable) lo convierte a Matter y en mi caso, con Homekit de Apple, genial todo. También compré dos Aqara Sensor de Inundación T1, los cuales funcionan a la perfección y detectan muy rápido cualquier pequeña fuga. Imagínate a las 5 de la mañana que se rompa una tubería, como pasó en casa de mi Madre y la de problemas que hubo después con el seguro, etc. Tengo uno en el baño y otro en el lavadero. Cuando el bolsillo se recupere, compraré otro para la cocina. La instalación en sí es muy fácil, aunque tuve que reducir de largo la palanca del agua ya que me la pusieron mal en una reforma del bloque y chocaba con la pared. Lo tengo configurado para cuando me vaya a trabajar se cierre la llave de paso sola y cuando abro la puerta se abre. Evito fugas mientras no estoy en casa. Realmente es lo que buscaba. Me gustaría que fuese Matter directo y evitar ese hub adicional, pero el M100 es muy barato y moderno, como dije antes. MUY RECOMENDADO!

Had my plumber install this, which was quick and efficient. It gives me tremendous peace of mind about the potential of leaks given my aging Poly-B plumbing. I have 6 sensors strategically placed throughout the home. The sensors can be named so you know exactly which sensor is affected.

In my tests it works flawlessly. A loud alarm goes off on the base hub module. The app also notifies with an alarm, and the valve reacts within seconds to shut off the main water.

I was concerned that if a flood happened due to a storm situation I might have a power outage, so I connected the wifi router and base unit to a UPS battery backup, allowing the wifi to continue to work even if there’s a power outage. I no longer worry about my townhouse having a leak that would make me liable for damages. Huge peace of mind.

Ich verstehe ehrlich gesagt Menschen nicht, die ohne mechanische Grundkenntnisse solche Geräte installiere und kann daher die vielen Negativen Bewertungen hier nicht nachvollziehen. Natürlich vergleicht man es mit Geräten der 800-1000€ Klasse, aber für 160€ inkl. 6 Sensoren ist es ein absoluter Kracher.
Tipp von mir an alle mit 2 linken Händen, die doch selbst einbauen wollen: benutzt das Gummi nicht an der Rohrschelle, sondern höchsten zur Dämpfung am Kugelhahn-Griff, wie bei mir. Dann wackelt auch nichts und es sitzt.
Für Reset muss der Reset-Knopf 2x getippt und dann 5s gehalten werden. Wenn man zuerst die Sensoren ins Aqara-System einbindet und erst danach den Antrieb, erkennt er diese bereits und fertig.
Also: montieren, zuerst Sensoren und erst zum Schluss den Antrieb in Aqara einbinden.

Was noch toll wäre: 6V-Netzteil und Systemausfall-Automatismus zum Schliessen.

Nachtrag: habe mir ganz einfach mit 2 M8x50 Inbusschrauben und jeweils 2 Muttern pro Schraube batteriegroße "Kontakte" für + und - gebastelt, mit Alufolie im Innensechskant damit die Feder Halt hat. Dazu am Deckel eine Ecke abgepetzt und ein externes 6V 1A Netzteil angeschlossen. Tadaa!

Nun ist das Ventil per HomeKit immer geschlossen, wenn die letzte Person das Haus verlässt 😎

I have a non standard pipe setup with a butterfly valve.
The default setup was not working very well so I had to hack off a part of the butterfly valve. In the end it worked, paired is with a smartthings hub with an edge driver.

J'ajoute ce commentaire pour ceux, qui comme moi, sont équipés d'une vanne d'arrivée d'eau à purge 20x27/19x25 pour tube en polyéthylène. Le kit d'installation fourni avec la vanne convient mais j'ai passé quelques heures à trouver les bons ajustements. Il faudra enlever la partie inférieure du papillon (la plus petite) avec une scie à métaux ou une Dremmel. Pour assurer un bon centrage entre l'axe du bras de commande de la vanne Aqara et celui de la vanne d'arrivée d'eau , j'ai "bricolé" un système avec un capuchon d'écrou qu'il faudra raboter à la bonne dimension et visser sur le robinet de commande en insérant une rondelle appropriée dans la cuvette du capuchon. Ce dispositif assure à la fois le rôle d'entretoise et de centrage. Il ne reste plus ensuite qu'à positionner la vanne Aqara à l'aide des éléments fournis dans le kit, le collier est "juste" mais il s'adapte. Concernant la programmation et le fonctionnement, j'utilise Home Assistant et Zigbee2MQTT. Je n'ai rencontré aucun problème pour l'intégration. La qualité générale du produit me parait satisfaisante, le couple est impressionnant et permet de manœuvrer le robinet sans aucune difficulté. En espérant avoir pu éclairer certains utilisateurs qui ont un robinet d'arrivée d'eau identique au mien.

I have a 27 year old home with PVC piping. I am quite concerned about the brittleness of the piping and the potential for flooding. I have placed sensors at each of the “wet” areas, sinks, dishwasher, washing machine. My only complaint is if you have to use the hose clamp, it isn’t as stable as I would like and the unit actually pulls away from the piping, it returns to it’s normal location upon completion of the opening, but I afraid that the hose clamp may fail, rendering the unit useless. I’m thinking of using a banding device to create a more secure installation.

Took about 15 mins to install. Hardest part was pairing it to my SmartThings hub, as there's nothing in the instructions that tell you how to reset the device into pairing mode. YouTube to the rescue: double tap reset and then hold for 5 seconds to get the device into pairing mode, SmartThings adds it as a switch right away and shows up in Google Home. Easily created a routine that would turn the valve off when my ZigBee water leak sensor was triggered.

I feel like this is a solid investment after hearing of friends and their horror stories of flooded basements, for added piece of mind.

It took me literally 10 min to install and 1 minute to add it to my Samsung smartthings hub. I believe it connects via zigbee 3.0.
I do not have an aqara hub. I just put in the batteries and the lights started blinking and opened my smartthings app connected to the smartthings hub and voila, it was auto detected and automatically added as a switch. It has on and off state. I also have ikea water leak sensor added to smartthings so i just added a routine/automation so then when the sensor detects water, it turns off the water valve.

This device is a no brainer and the best and most important smart home investment ever.

P.S.
I have tried using the cheaper zigbee/matter smart water valves before this but either they were too weak despite being connected with an actual power adapter or they did not close the valve completely.

In the end I'd say, just spend $100 and get this product.. You won't regret it.

This is probably one of the best home automation purchases we've made. While it is important that you correctly align/install this for it to work correctly, it has been working flawlessly for us. I periodically test it and have it synced up with several water leak sensors. This is a must-have for any homeowner for peace of mind.

Does the job very well

After trial and error I found the Peglar PB300 full bore valve to be the best option for fit and water flow. Can be got at Screwfix for £17
