Matter Hub for Aqara and Third-Party Devices

The M200 is your central smart home command center, seamlessly connecting Matter, Thread, and Aqara Zigbee devices to all your favorite ecosystems.

With a built-in Matter Controller, Thread Border Router, and advanced Matter bridging, it brings native Aqara experiences right into your preferred platform, all with robust local control.

Matter Controller

Manage a wide range of Matter devices directly through the Aqara Home app, with support for over 50 device types-all under unified control.

Thread Border Router & Mesh Extender

The M200 acts as a Thread border router, bridging it to your Wi-Fi or Ethernet network for seamless communication with smart speakers and hubs. It can also serve as a Thread mesh extender, extending the coverage and reliability of the Thread network.

Hub & Matter Bridge for Aqara Zigbee Devices

The M200 functions as both an Aqara Zigbee hub and a Matter bridge. It connects Aqara Zigbee devices to major Matter ecosystems including Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, SmartThings, and Home Assistant.

Advanced Matter Bridging

Advanced Matter Bridging goes beyond standard connectivity, it enables unique Aqara features to function on third-party ecosystems. In this way, you can use your favorite Aqara products to their fullest no matter which ecosystem you prefer.

Universal IR Remote Control

The 360°IR blaster* sends commands and can detect when your existing remote control is used, ensuring accurate status updates. It can also connect IR-based air conditioners to Matter**, enabling thermostat-like functionality when used with an Aqara Climate Sensor. For reliable operation, we recommend installing the hub near the AC unit.

*Please note: the infrared frequency is 38kHz
*Only one IR-controlled AC unit can be bridged to the AC mode function. For multiple AC units, please use the Advanced Matter Bridging functionality.

Superior Wired and Wireless Connectivity

The M200 provides dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4/5 GHz) with advanced WPA3 security and flexible power options including Power over Ethernet (PoE) and USB-C.

*5V=2A USB power adapter is not included

Simple Yet Powerful Automations

Aqara Automations, recently upgraded to Automations 2.0, follow WHEN-IF-THEN logic for building strong and efficient automations. This allows for multiple device, situation, time and state conditions to be bundled into a single automation.
Automations previously triggered between the cloud and hubs will transition to local automations, ensuring they remain operational even during internet outages. Local automations are more robust, secure, and faster than cloud automations.

*Some automations, like cloud push notifications, still require a cloud connection.

Built-in Speaker with Custom Audio Compatibility

The Aqara Hub M200 features a 90dB built-in speaker that serves multiple purposes, including doorbell alerts, alarm clock functions, security alert, and custom audio recordings that you can upload into the hub.

Voice Control with Aqara Voice Mate

The M200 enables voice control when paired with the Voice Mate H1, a compact Bluetooth microphone designed for private and flexible interaction.

Flexible Mounting Options

The M200 can be placed directly on a flat surface or mounted securely on a wall or ceiling using a standard 1/4-inch threaded bracket.

Made all my "dumb" devices smart with the IR mode

Controlls my Aqara blinds but has a tonne of extra connectivity, the coolest is infrared which can learn remote controls for many different devices.

I can now control my Aircon unit via WiFi which was an unexpected bonus - the hub has to be in the same room as the device for this to work. Shame the Aircon control isn't integrated with Google home for some reason.

The hub itself is very slim and low profile, taking up little space and blending into the room nicely.

Home Assistant Hub

Let's take your home automation to the next level. I currently have an Aqara door lock. I use my Apple TV homekit to utilize them in home automation. But I really want to use the locks in Home Assistant. That is where this hub comes in. It is also a Matter hub, so things like my robot vacuum can connect to it to see it in Home Assistant. I like that it has an Ethernet port so I can connect it without WIFI. It comes with a USB-A to USB-C cable, but no power plug, which is sad. You will need to use their app to set it up. But you now have a HomeAssistant hub for Matter, Aqar,a and Thread. There are not very many devices that can do this.

Powerful, Flexible Smart Home Hub — A True All-in-One Solution

The Aqara Hub M200 is an outstanding smart home hub that delivers exactly what advanced users and growing smart homes need. Its multi-protocol support is impressive—acting as a Matter Controller, Thread Border Router, and Matter Bridge all in one device. Integrating Aqara devices and third-party platforms like Apple HomeKit, Google Home, Alexa, and Home Assistant is seamless and reliable.

The built-in 360° IR blaster is a standout feature. It not only controls traditional IR devices but also provides real feedback by detecting remote usage, which is incredibly useful. Pairing it with an Aqara temperature and humidity sensor to function as a smart AC thermostat is a smart and practical addition.

Connectivity options are excellent. Dual-band Wi-Fi with WPA3 security, PoE support, and USB-C power flexibility make installation easy and dependable. The ability to connect to a mini-UPS or power bank adds extra peace of mind for keeping automations running during outages.

Automation performance is rock solid. Local execution ensures fast response times and continued operation even if the internet goes down. The built-in speaker adds versatility, functioning as an alarm, doorbell, or notification device within the Aqara ecosystem.

Overall, the Aqara Hub M200 is powerful, future-proof, and thoughtfully designed. It’s an excellent choice for anyone looking to build a stable, secure, and highly integrated smart home system. Highly recommended!

Full-featured Integration Smart Hub

The Aqara Smart Hub M200 is a great hub for connecting smart home devices to your network, especially for those like me who have a mix of devices from different manufacturers. I have smart locks, doorbells, security cameras, door and motion sensors, and smoke alarms, all with their own apps and controllers. I bought them over time without knowing about compatibility and interoperability, so I’ve decided to standardize my devices and protocols as I replace them in the future. I’ve learned that Aqara is leading the way with Matter and Thread support, which is compatible with Apple Home Kit. The Smart Hub M200 will be a key piece in tying everything together.

The M200 offers flexibility, allowing me to add devices that don’t integrate directly with Apple Home Kit. It connects these devices to Apple HomeKit for me.

Installing the M200 is relatively easy if you’re familiar with the Aqara Home app, which I am. I already had an Aqara security camera that required the app. Plug the M200 into a power source and turn it on. The Aqara app on your iPhone will guide you through connecting and initializing it. However, configuring the M200 to work with all your devices will require some effort and a good understanding of smart home technology.

The Aqara app isn’t the most user-friendly, though. There are so many screens, and navigating back and forth to find things can be frustrating. I wish the app provided a better overview illustration of device connections. Currently, I have to dig through the screens myself to figure it out. For example, if I connect a doorbell to the M200, which then connects it to Apple HomeKit, and the security camera is directly connected to Apple HomeKit, it should show this in a single, easy-to-understand illustration. When I have dozens of devices connected and need to troubleshoot a problem, I don’t want to have to check each device individually to see if it’s connected to the M200 or Apple HomeKit. That would be a lot of time and effort.

I’ve only just started installing new devices to replace my old ones. Having the M200 will serve as a central hub to connect all my devices and then connect them to my Apple HomeKit setup.

I’ve connected the M200 to my network using a PoE Ethernet switch that I also use for my two outdoor Aqara security cameras. This saves me the hassle of purchasing another power adapter.

The M200 is a full-featured product, and I’m sure I’ll take some time to fully utilize its capabilities.

Simple, good value smart home hub that is easy to put to work

I picked up the to add to a home setup and allow to be more central for zigbee and other Aqara units. At its core, it’s a Matter controller and Zigbee hub that lets you connect sensors and buttons and share them into your home automation solution including Home Assistant. Giving you a good bridge between all those devices and whatever ecosystem you’re running. It can also act as a Thread border router or by placement could be helpful for range extension of the support devices.

Further observation is the nice to have 360 degrees infrared blaster which would allow you to control older stuff like ceiling fan or some portable AC unit. Compatibility will very on this one, so check before if you need this function. Some other stats to keep track is the support for 40 Zigbee and 40 Thread devices, which is less them some of their own other model. But for most purpose and if combined with other solution this should be plenty. I would say for most small-to-medium system, the setup is straightforward and it just works well. Another nicety for this device is it can be powered by both the now traditional USB-C but also PoE allowing even more flexibility in placement. Overall good value.

funktioniert problemlos

📦 Lieferumfang:
Aqara Smart Hub M200, Matter-Controller, Thread-Grenzrouter mit Aqara Zigbee, Bluetooth, WLAN, PoE, IR, unterstützt Amazon Alexa, Apple HomeKit, Home Assistant, SmartThings, Google Home

👁 Optik + Haptik:
Alles sehr sauber verarbeitet, Qualität dem Preis angemessen.

🛠 Inbetriebnahme + Betrieb:

Solid smart hub that plays well with everything.

Setup was straightforward and the hub paired quickly with my Aqara devices. Matter support is the big win here and it works smoothly with Alexa Google Home and HomeKit without drama. Connections are stable and response time is fast which is what you want from a hub. The design is clean and low profile so it disappears on a shelf. Price feels fair for what it does and it future proofs the smart home nicely. If you are building or expanding a smart home this is a solid pick.

A surprisingly capable hub that brings Aqara into the modern smart home

Aqara’s M200 feels like a real step forward if you’re trying to bridge older Zigbee accessories with a modern Matter setup. The initial onboarding was quick. I had it paired with Apple Home and Home Assistant within minutes, and the app clearly shows which radios are active so you know what’s actually routing your devices. In everyday use, the Thread border router makes a noticeable difference when adding newer Matter sensors because they join faster and stay stable even on a congested network.

The IR control is handy, but range varies depending on the room layout, and it worked best when I placed the hub on an open shelf instead of tucked behind my TV. This is a strong option for someone building a mixed ecosystem at home, especially if they already own Aqara sensors.

The Little Hub That Does Everything

The Aqara Hub M200 is a compact smart home hub that combines Matter support, a Thread Border Router, a Zigbee hub, an IR blaster, and a built-in speaker. Setup with the Aqara Home app was simple, and all my Aqara devices connected without any issues. I also linked it to my Hue Hub with my Hue bulbs, as well as several Matter-over-Wi-Fi devices such as panel heaters and light bulbs. Everything works reliably, and both device control and automations update quickly.

The option to power the hub via PoE is a big advantage, and I appreciate that Aqara is releasing more devices with PoE support. I also find myself using the Aqara Home app more and more, as it offers many features I really like.

The IR function, especially the Air Conditioning Mode, was very easy to set up with my Daikin AC. The M200 is connected to Apple Home via Matter, and I can control the air conditioner directly from Apple Home without any issues — similar to using Sensibo or Tado. (Also paired the Aqara W100 sensor with air conditioning)

Its limit of 40 Zigbee devices and 40 Thread devices means it's best suited for smaller smart homes, or as I'm using it: for the devices in my living room. This works smoothly and makes it easier to manage everything from one place.

Powerful, Future-Proof Hub for Any Smart Home

What stood out immediately was how many roles it combines into one device. It works as a Matter Controller, Thread Border Router, and Matter Bridge, all in a single compact hub. Setting it up with my existing Aqara sensors and adding Thread devices was smooth, and it recognized everything quickly. The ability to bridge Aqara features into Apple Home and Home Assistant without losing functionality has been a huge advantage.

The IR blaster is another highlight. I have an older air conditioner that isn’t smart, and the M200 basically turned it into a smart thermostat. It even detects when I use the original remote and updates the status automatically, which is something most IR blasters can’t do. Pairing it with an Aqara temperature sensor made automation feel like a built-in feature.

Connectivity options are flexible. I’m using PoE for power, which keeps things tidy and reliable, but it’s great that it also supports dual-band Wi-Fi and USB-C power. I tested it with a small power bank, and it stayed online during a short outage, nice peace of mind for automations and security alerts.

The built-in speaker is more useful than I expected. I’ve set it up for door alerts, a simple alarm clock, and even a custom chime when a sensor triggers. Volume is decent for its size, and it responds fast thanks to local automation. Even with my internet offline, Zigbee and Matter automations continue to run almost instantly.

Overall, the M200 has been extremely reliable, flexible, and powerful. If you want a hub that’s ready for the Matter ecosystem, supports tons of devices, and brings real automation speed and stability, this is a fantastic upgrade for any smart home setup.

Install a little tricky.

If I remember right, you have to install it with wifi while also powering it up using Aqara app. After that, you can then get it to hardware connect with ethernet.
It updates firmware, easily connects Aqara devices, has good range and has been trouble free in Aqara app and Home Assistant.
